Let's connect the clubhouse.
ZUZU runs on Supabase for auth, storage and the little database of memories. Add your project credentials and this screen turns into the app.
Create the env file
cp .env.example .env.local
Paste your project URL and anon key
Use the values from Supabase → Project Settings → API. Only the public anon key belongs in this file — never the service role key.
Apply the migrations
Run supabase/migrations/0001_init.sql and then supabase/migrations/0002_hardening.sql in the SQL editor, in that order. They create profiles, posts, indexes, triggers, buckets, RLS policies and the hardening constraints on timestamps, storage paths and usernames.
Restart the dev server
Stop the server and run npm run dev again. Email OTP also needs the Magic Link email template to include {{ .Token }}.
What's missing right now
- NEXT_PUBLIC_SUPABASE_URL is not set.
- NEXT_PUBLIC_SUPABASE_ANON_KEY is not set.
Nothing is committed with secrets. .env.local stays on your machine and is already git-ignored.
